I came to this planet in BARCELONA, almost 55 years ago, in a humble family. I struggled to study business administration and management at a prestigious university and thanks to this I was able to develop my professional career for 26 years at Deloitte (first ArthurAndersen) A disruptive and totally unexpected event cut my life forever in January 2014, at the age of 47. Parkinson's disease, as unknown as it is wild (chronic, degenerative, still incurable), makes me live what I define as a second life. Far from realizing it, I began a fierce career to document myself, understand myself and be able to go face-to-face with my illness, which I affectionately called a "monster". In August 2016 I created a personal blog conviviendoconelparkinson.com, where I unduly wrote about my coexistence with the disease, as a personal therapy and to share and help other people, to spread more and better to society the reality behind the stereotype of Parkinson's. Today my blog includes more than 150 articles, and exceeds 90,000 direct visits and possibly one of the ones that contains more information about this disease. My spirit of tireless fighter led me to complement my blog by creating, editing and publishing two books: Parkinson, y ahora qué?, Gent i Terra (2017), and “Cara a cara con el monstruo”, by Editorial Kurere (2019). On July 14, 2020 I published my third book with Grupo Planeta, a self-help book, of emotional improvement, called Controlar lo incontrolable. I am an ambassador for the Michael J.Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and I am part of some Committees that have already begun organizing the next World Parkinson's Congress (WPC) to be held in the city of Barcelona in June 2022. In one of these committees, together with other colleagues, I am working on the organization of a pre-congress workshop on Early Onset Parkinson's ('young', whose patients are diagnosed before their 50th birthday). Music is one of my great passions and together with the general themes of current affairs and Parkinson's will shape my weekly program at Radio Parkies, where you will listen to colleagues, specialist doctors, scientists and researchers, caregivers, public figures in healthcare, etc. And RADIO PARKIES BARCELONA will be in charge of following, commenting, explaining everything relevant related to the WORLD PARKINSON CONGRESS that will be held in June 2022 here, in BARCELONA. I'm very excited to explain what's going on, mixing it up with interviews, good humour, positive attitude and always with tones of hope. I want to express my special gratitude to Jean-Paul De CREMER and Fulvio CAPITANIO for trusting me.
